During our Easter getaway at Zur Alten Mine, we were captivated by its serene, picturesque location nestled in the mountains, offering breathtaking views over the lake and easy access to the famous Panorama Route. The cosy honeymoon chalet exceeded our expectations with its tastefully decorated interiors, complete with an electric blanket and a charming fireplace-perfect for those chilly evenings. Each morning, we were treated to a delightful breakfast and enjoyed leisurely afternoons on our private veranda, taking in the stunning forest scenery while planning our next adventure to the nearby Blyde River Canyon. As a travel lover from the UK with a family that includes two beloved dogs, I appreciated the absence of pet policies here; it allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in our surroundings without any distractions. With a fully equipped kitchen for home-cooked meals and BBQ facilities on hand, every aspect of our stay was designed for comfort and relaxation. Zur Alten Mine is an idyllic escape that I highly recommend to anyone looking to unwind or embark on exploration of the natural wonders nearby.
